Drone videography

Denver drone videographer, FAA Part 107 certified

Earth Coast Productions flies aerial video for events, brand films, construction, real estate and government projects across Denver, Boulder, Broomfield and the Front Range. Our pilots are FAA Part 107 certified, we handle airspace authorization, and because we are a full production company, the aerials are planned with the rest of the shoot: interviews, ground cameras, editing and, on request, a live aerial feed into your livestream.

Aerials from our own films

Every film below was produced by our crew, aerials included. Each is a full project, so the drone work appears where the story needed it.

More aerial work appears in our Cemex and One Tree Planted reforestation film and across our work.

What we fly for

How a drone shoot works with us

  1. 1. Plan

We check the airspace, request FAA authorization where it's needed, confirm permission with the venue or landowner, and build the flights into the shoot schedule.

  2. 2. Fly

A Part 107 certified pilot flies with a safety briefing, a clear launch area and an eye on Front Range wind, which builds in the afternoon and is stronger in the mountains.

  3. 3. Deliver

Aerials are color-graded and cut into your film, recap or social edits, or sent live into the livestream when we planned for it.

Certified pilots, verifiable

Artem Nikulkov, our founder, holds FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate #5021677, issued June 26, 2024, and other members of our crew are also Part 107 remote pilots. Anyone can look up a remote pilot in the FAA Airmen Inquiry. Our full list of certifications, accreditations and registrations is on our credentials page.

We fly across the Denver metro, Boulder, Broomfield and the Front Range, and travel for projects nationwide. See also Denver video production and event AV.

Drone video questions

How much does a drone videographer cost in Denver?

It depends on flight time, location, the airspace authorization needed, and whether the aerials are part of a larger shoot with ground cameras and editing. We quote every project in writing after a short planning call, usually within 2 to 3 business days.

Can you fly a drone in downtown Denver?

Often, yes. Much of the Denver metro sits in controlled airspace around Denver International, Centennial and Rocky Mountain Metropolitan airports, so our pilot requests FAA authorization through LAANC, which can come back in minutes, or through FAA DroneZone when a flight needs more. We also need permission from the property or venue we launch from, and we confirm both before we quote.

Do I need FAA permission for drone video at my event?

The FAA side is ours: a Part 107 certified remote pilot flies, and we handle airspace authorization and the flight plan. What we need from you is permission from the venue or landowner and a heads-up on the event schedule, so flights happen when they won't distract the room.

Can a drone fly over the crowd at an outdoor event?

Only where FAA Part 107 allows it. The rules limit flying over people who are not part of the operation, so we plan flight paths along the edges of a crowd and over open ground, and we never fly over an open-air audience unless that operation is permitted.

Can you film drone aerials at night?

Yes. Part 107 allows night flights when the pilot has completed the FAA's night training and the drone carries anti-collision lighting visible for 3 statute miles. Night aerials are great for festival lights and building reveals.

Can you fly a drone in Rocky Mountain National Park?

No. The National Park Service prohibits launching, landing or operating drones in national parks, including Rocky Mountain National Park. For mountain aerials we fly from private land or public land where drones are permitted, with the owner's or agency's permission.

Can you add a live drone shot to our livestream?

Yes, on request. With planning, we can bring a live aerial feed into our multi-camera switcher for a livestream or the venue's screens, alongside the ground cameras.

Why hire a production company instead of a drone-only operator?

Because the aerials are planned with everything else: the same crew films the interviews, sessions and ground shots, edits the film and runs the livestream. You get one plan, one schedule and one team, and the aerials land where the story needs them.
